1st SnowXperience took place at Fiss
On the 4th of February ARENA SnowXperience took place for the first time at Fiss - a completely new type of event in the field of SlopeManagement. Robert Sölkner, CEO of PowerGIS, emphasized the tight connection between good slope quality and creating added value in the field of tourism in his opening speech. Further he underlined the central importance the human factor plays in those processes.
Afterwards the participants could visit the different stations and exchange views and information with the experts. Three indoor stations were provided (Spatial data & surveying, fleet management, driver training & slope grooming, application competence) and one outdoor station. Thus, the visitors could gain an impression of the ALL IN solution ARENA. Already after a short time the groups were having lively discussions and conversations. The outdoor station (ARENA in practice) was of special interest for many of the visitors. Current and upcoming technical features were explained and could be seen and touched. Two snow groomers were the station's highlight - people could take a seat within and experience work with ARENA directly on the slope. ARENA SiteLINK, the realtime exchange of snow heights between the snow groomers, was of course a main part of the outdoor demonstration.
As the event approached its end, a final discussion round offered the chance to adress important or unclear issues and sum up the day. Thomas Kirschner, responsible for the slopes at Fisser Bergbahnen, represented his team. He emphasized, that Fiss is fully convinced of SlopeManagement and that is has proven to be of great value in daily work.
